Banff → Crowfoot Glacier → Peyto Lake (30 mins) → Icefields Parkway → Lunch (self-paid; buffet lunch available for additional booking, 45 mins) → Snowcoach & Glacier Skywalk (self-paid, 150 mins) → Athabasca Falls (30 mins) → Jasper, check in to hotel

Depart from the hotel in Banff in the morning, with views of Crowfoot Glacier along the route, then arrive at Peyto Lake. If the scenic area is closed for maintenance or other force majeure events, the tour will be replaced with a visit to Waterfowl Lake. This maple-leaf-shaped lake resembles a turquoise ribbon embedded in the valleys of the Rocky Mountains. Afterwards, a self-paid buffet lunch will be arranged at The Crossing. Continue driving along the picturesque Icefields Parkway (Highway 93) to reach the Icefield Centre, where you can board the self-paid Snowcoach to travel across the Athabasca Glacier and witness nature’s accumulation over millions of years. You may also step onto the 280-metre-high self-paid Glacier Skywalk, which offers panoramic views of the Sunwapta Valley; when mist shrouds the area, you will feel as if walking among the clouds. Next, head to Athabasca Falls, formed by glacial meltwater erosion with a 23-metre drop, before driving to a hotel in Jasper Town for check-in.

*The self-paid Ice Explorer Snowcoach and Glacier Skywalk operate from May 1 to October 12, subject to weather conditions.*

Starting October 13, the itinerary will only include stops at scenic spots, with no optional bookings for the Snowcoach or Glacier Skywalk activities.

On clear weather days: Guests can take an easy 60-minute hike on the hills in front of the glacier to experience glacial landscapes up close.

On poor weather days: Following the tour guide’s arrangement, guests will view the glacier from a distance, with an extra stop at Waterfowl Lake added to the itinerary.

    # Itinerary:
Jasper → Medicine Lake → Maligne Lake (Optional 90-minute cruise at own expense) → Lunch at Maligne Lake (45 minutes, self-paid) → The Crossing → Bow Lake (20 minutes) → Banff

Depart from your hotel in Jasper and pass by Medicine Lake. At the lake’s far end lies Maligne Lake, the world’s second-largest glacial lake. Board the seasonal Maligne Lake Cruise (at your own expense)* and cruise across the 22-kilometre-long lake, slowly approaching Spirit Island, known as "the meeting place of the gods". After self-paid lunch at Maligne Lake, proceed to Maligne Canyon*, the longest and deepest canyon in the Rocky Mountains. Due to the 2024 wildfires, this stop may be substituted with Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and Lake Beauvert depending on national park opening status. Carved by glacial erosion, the canyon features deep, rugged rock formations and breathtaking scenery. Afterwards, drive south along the Icefields Parkway, stop for a rest at The Crossing, then visit Bow Lake for photos with sweeping panoramic views before heading south back to Banff.

*Maligne Lake Cruise (self-paid) operates from May 29 to October 11. Schedules are subject to change based on lake ice melt conditions. When cruises are unavailable, the itinerary will be replaced with a 45-minute stop at Pyramid Lake and a 15-minute stop at Patricia Lake.

*Maligne Canyon may be replaced with Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and Lake Beauvert (30 minutes total) subject to national park opening status as a result of the 2024 wildfires.

Depart the hotel early in the morning, and you will soon arrive at Lake Louise, the most renowned lake in the Rocky Mountains. Under the sunlight, the mineral-rich lake water shimmers with a captivating sapphire blue, embraced on three sides by the towering Victoria Glacier. Resembling a jade scattered among the mountains, it earns the moniker "the Sapphire of the Rockies". Looking back from the lakeshore, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise stands serenely amid pine forests, welcoming visitors. Afterwards, hike to the top of the trail, where the crystal-clear turquoise waters of seasonal Moraine Lake mirror the jagged Ten Peaks. Standing at the vantage point, you will take in the full panoramic lake and mountain vistas, losing all sense of time. After leaving Moraine Lake, head to Lake Louise Village for lunch at your own expense, with Chinese or Western plated meals available for pre-order.

Following lunch, continue westward, passing the Spiral Tunnel built through the blood, sweat and tears of Pacific Railway workers before entering Yoho National Park. You will reach the secluded Emerald Lake, where red canoes ripple across its tranquil surface. Next, visit Natural Bridge, carved over thousands of years by the Kicking Horse River. The waterway, dark pine trees, distant mountains and shallow shoals combine to form a breathtaking landscape painting. On the return journey, stop over at Banff Town before driving back to Calgary.

*Moraine Lake: Seasonal access. Tentative opening period runs from Victoria Day long weekend in May through late September to early October, subject to official announcements from Parks Canada. If the lake is closed and inaccessible, the substitute attractions will be Lake Minnewanka (30 mins) and Two Jack Lake (15 mins). The mandatory fee for Moraine Lake will be waived.
