Description
In the morning, after guests have been picked up in Boston, we will drive to Carmel, NY to visit the Chuang Yen Monastery. Then, we will visit the Mahayana Temple in Leeds, NY. Afterwards, we will return to Boston. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.
Carmel, NY
This town in Putnam County, NY was settled back in 1740, and even helped play a small part in the American Revolution. It features a number of small village and hamlet style communities.
Chuang Yen Monastery
This Buddhist temple in New York sits on 225 acres of beautiful land and is home to the largest indoor statue of Buddha in the United States. The name translates to "majestically adorned."

Founded in 1962, this large Buddhist temple in Leeds, NY can be found in the heart of the forest. The facility is comprised of 5 buildings in total, each with their own unique design.
